In the Interactive Media Management - Digital Design program (Interactive Media), students create web and mobile content leveraging a curriculum in interactivity, usability, coding, social media, and emerging technologies in an interdisciplinary collaborative learning environment.
Students build interactive media environments from the ground up, using industry best practices for interface design, interactive programming, and AI assisted code generation. The IM program teaches how to use HTML, CSS, Javascript, Canvas, NodeJS, Python, APIs to design and build interactive digital media like apps, games, sites, explainers, puzzles, art, configurators, AR & VR prototypes, and physical computing projects.
Our graduates work as independent designers/producers or as members of creative, technical and marketing teams. Alumni of our program are producing interactive features, eLearning apps, and sites for TVO, Much Music, CBC Kids, Sympatico/MSN, Royal Ontario Museum (ROM), Halton Region, WestJet, Canadian Football League (CFL), Labatt's Blue, and many more.
Industry has rewarded our IM graduates at conferences and festivals for their innovative and compelling web, mobile and multimedia work. Recent awards include at Canadian Game Awards, SXSW, Gold at Cannes – Cyber Lion and a Digital Emmy.
Our award-winning Professors are sought after by industry for demonstrations and speaking engagements at conferences and workshops such as FITC / Screens / Spotlights, CreateInTO Meet-ups, TEDx, Toronto WordCamp, Editors Canada, IxDA Toronto, and DevTO.
